Summer 2012 Impressions and Readers’ Pick of the Season Voting
Posted: July 1, 2012 Filed under: Animu, Preview, Seasonal Impressions, Update | Tags: Impressions 6 Comments »Oh my, already time for the new season? But I’m not even caught up on the last one! I am getting pretty close, though.
So this is coming out pretty late, considering stuff starts airing tomorrow (except for Kingdom, but pretty much nobody is watching that anyways). But hey, at least it means I get to use the most up-to-date chart, right?
Also, I’m making an actual deadline for Readers’ Pick voting this time around. The poll will close on July 5th at 5:00pm PST, so get your vote in before then! Or if you’re Game, sabotage the poll again before then.

Except it isn’t actually that big of a deal, because I’m going to be taking my time to play through the game. That means plenty of breaks to work on those posts. Plus, some posts might end up actually being short for once, kind of like how I bet this one will turn out.

Of course, by rule of inclusion, this also means I am very, very sleep deprived. I’m going to go pass out after I finish typing this. I’m not even going to immediately check for retarded grammar and spelling errors like I usually do. That’s also kind of a bad thing because I tend to type worse when I’m really tired (shocker). Also, I was planning on getting another sneak peek segment out today but I’ll probably end up passing out for days so lets just assume it won’t be out until tomorrow.
Spring 2012 Impressions
Posted: March 13, 2012 Filed under: Animu, Preview, Seasonal Impressions, Update | Tags: Impressions 23 Comments »As I’ve been saying on Twitter, my posting got delayed because I wanted to finish Mass Effect 3 over the weekend so it wouldn’t interfere with me actually going to my classes. I did manage to accomplish this, and I finished at around 6:00am Monday. Talk about cutting it close.
Also, a fairly large chunk of people have been complaining about the endings. I won’t spoil anything, but I don’t understand this at all; I thought the endings were great. I do agree the epilogues (the videos for the endings) were extremely lacking, but the endings were perfectly fine.
Anyways. seeing as how I didn’t get the last seasonal impressions post out until well after the season had started, I figured it’d be a good idea to get this one out nice and early. Plus, starting early is also a good idea, in case I need to spend more than one day on this, seeing as how there’s a whopping 44 shows to write little quips for. Oh boy.
But wait, there’s more! I have something super special in store for the end of the post that involves you readers! It’s something I only just thought up as I was writing those last two paragraphs, even though it doesn’t really have much to do with them (other than being about anime, obviously). What can I say, my mind is just constantly in motion.

So only one post today, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this is short, either. Though I do have a few things circling in my head about what I want to say, so I guess it’ll really come down to how much I can say about everything.
So I decided to be an idiot and pre-ordered TERA. This basically lets me in to all of the closed beta tests, which is on the weekends, every other weekend, starting with this one. Not sure if it’ll hinder me getting a post or two out or not, but I’m considering waiting for the next episode of Shana and doing a double-episode post anyways. It’s pretty much five days late, so I may as well, right? Especially since I don’t have much to say for the latest episode. Then again, maybe that means I should just write it up real fast. Argh, I’m confusing myself. I’ll think about what I want to do.

These last few days, I’ve actually managed to set some time aside and watch some shows. It’s much better than before, when I was only barely keeping up with three shows. I’m nearly caught up on the shows I said I was going to check out this season, and haven’t fallen behind on the shows carrying over into this season. Kill Me Baby is the only one I have yet to start.
Know what that means? Preview posts bonanza! Well, actually, maybe not bonanza, since there’s only around five shows that I’m picking up, but at least it’ll give me something to write that isn’t Shana episodics. Not that I don’t like to write them, but still.

Posted: January 29, 2012 Filed under: Animu, Another, Preview | Tags: Another 4 Comments »Holy crap, its been so long since I’ve written a preview post. I hope I haven’t forgotten how to do them.
Actually, if all goes well, I should have a second preview post out today. Cool, right? I’m thinking of making my Sundays kind of “chill out” days. I’m not playing games, I take the time to feel relaxed, watch some anime, write some posts, actually do some homework, etc. It’s a nice break from all of the questing and PvP of Old Republic. And school, obviously.
Though, if I was smart, I would actually schedule the post to go out in a few days, so I don’t have to worry about needing to write a post within the next 2-3 days. But I can’t do it, I’m far too impatient; I prefer to publish my posts right away rather than save them.
Also, before I start this post, I should mention that there will be a pretty huge spoiler at the end. Normally I don’t really care too much, because I consider the first three episodes to be fair game, but something pretty significant happens at the end of the third episode that’s worth seeing for yourself if you’re interested. So if you don’t want to be spoiled, I’ll try and cover the necessities in the beginning.
Winter 2011/2012 Impressions
Posted: January 22, 2012 Filed under: Animu, Preview, Seasonal Impressions, Update | Tags: Impressions 10 Comments »About time I got to work on this post. I was going to be productive and write it before today, but then my Internet decided to fluctuate like a lunatic. It wasn’t so much that it was going on and off, it was more like it was capping me to speeds so slow that I couldn’t connect to anything at all, but then randomly restoring itself to normal for a few seconds. It was very strange and very annoying.
Anyways, this post will be done in my usual style (or more accurately, lack of style), with no pictures other than the chart at the beginning. I’m actually interested to go through this chart, because I remember seeing an early version of the season’s chart and only wanting to see three or four shows. Perhaps with a newer chart my mind will be changed.

I also have character ideas that I like. The main thing I’m struggling a bit with is thinking of an overarching plot to connect everything. My first instinct was to go with the standard “oppressive rulers” idea, but so many stories take this route that I want to think up something unique. Or at least a twist on the standard formula.
I know NaNoWriMo is where you’re supposed to just surrender to artistic impulse rather than literary desires, but I’ve never managed to finish a genuine story/novel before, and I want to be able to do so with the 50,000 word count goal of NaNoWriMo motivating me.
