Preview: Fireball Charming

Preview #2

Oh yeah, I’m on a roll.

Fireball Charming is a series made by Disney of Japan about a robot named Drossel and her robot servant, Gedächtnis, engaging in witty banter.snap2

…That’s about it. Shortest summary ever, right?

There’s no real plot to this series, nor does it need one. They’re just 2-minute clips of Drossel and Gedächtnis talking, basically. There was actually a funnier part I wanted to use for the preview, but it would have been too many pictures.

Honestly, it’s damn good at verbal humor, and visual humor occasionally too. Admittedly, a lot of the jokes are based around Japanese wordplay, so the jokes don’t always translate perfectly, but it’s still pretty funny. Especially considering they’re extremely good at the timing. The speed they talk at combined with when they interrupt each other is perfect. It just adds even further to the jokes.

Basically, there’s no reason you shouldn’t be watching these 2-minute shorts. And if you haven’t watched the first season made about two years ago, do so now.

I’m glad they decided to make a season 2. This is a really good series that more people should be watching. Like you said, it’s only 2 minutes, so there’s really no reason to miss out!

It only took them about two years to make it. Though seeing all the shiny new CG, it seems as though it might just have taken them that long to finish this new season.

Wow ! I never thought disney would make Japanese-styled animation. It looks great too, more than any ‘movie’ they have ever made.
    May I ask ?
Is it TV-only or in cable ? Which ?

    • Riyoga says:

That’s because it’s made by Disney of Japan. It’s an actual anime.

The only way you can watch it (unless you actually live in Japan) would be to torrent it from a group translating it (I think gg are the only ones doing it), or to watch it online somewhere.
I have a link to the first season which is on Youtube at the end of the post. You can probably also find the second season on:
Pretty much any site that does streaming.
